Irish Software Association invites nominees for 2010 awards

Monday, 26 July 2010
Nominations are now being sought for finalists to participate in the 2010 ISA Software Industry Awards. Now in its thirty second year, the ISA Awards recognise the outstanding contribution of software professionals to the Irish economy.

Previous ISA Award winners such as Norkom, Arantech, Openet and Qumas, have achieved significant international success. Managing Director of Avego, Sean O'Sullivan, who won last year’s Emerging Business of the Year Award, believes that the award has strongly benefited his business. “Ireland has a great reputation as a home for world-class software development. Winning the 2009 ‘Emerging Software Business of the Year Award’ for Avego has helped our team attract top developers, both from Ireland and abroad, and it has helped validate and raise awareness to new customers that they are going with a winning, innovative company,” he said.

Director of the ISA, Paul Sweetman, added: “The industry awards recognise the innovative skills of the Irish software sector. Over the past year, the indigenous software industry has performed well, growing by 6%. Annual exports are now valued at more than €850 million. This success is a result of the smart skills and flexibility that characterises Irish software companies.”

The achievements of Irish software community will be celebrated at a gala ceremony in the Burlington Hotel on Friday 12 November 2010. The Award categories will include:

• Company of the Year
• Technology Person of the Year
• Emerging Business of the Year
• Corporate Social Responsibility
• Technology Software Start up of the Year
• Technical Innovation
• Sales Achievement of the Year
• Software Collaboration
• Student medal for the most commercially viable software

Entries to 2010 ISA Software Industry Awards can now be made online at www.software.ie/awards. This year’s awards are kindly sponsored by William Fry, Enterprise Ireland, Science Foundation Ireland and Helix Health
